2008 World Series Champs!!!

Although this blog is techinically dedicated to Colin, we feel that he was our good luck charm for taking us to the World Series title. Here are a few exciting photos from the celebratory parade.

We had a busy time over the last couple of months.....Colin turned 1, we celebrated Nana's 90th birthday, he had his second Halloween, there was lots of political drama, and there was some kind of sports thing going on too (see next blog post for details).

Colin's First Birthday

Wow - can't believe a year has gone by already. It seems like only yesterday we were bringing Colin home from the hospital to our disheveled home. Now he's a year old and the house is done (mostly). We had a great birthday party on Saturday, Gran and Slim and Aunt Erin, Uncle Jon, and Cousin Thea made the trip to celebrate with us. The Thomas the Tank Engine cake and cupcakes were a big hit, but the bouncing Zebra was not, at least not with Colin, but Thea enjoyed it.

Trip to Michigan

I know I'm a little behind on these posts. In August, Colin took his first plane ride to Detroit. He was very well behaved and pretty much slept through the flight.
We had a great time with Gran and Slim, Aunt Betsy, Uncle Jim and Aunt Nancy, Cousins Erik and Alec, and Hamlet the Dog. We celebrated Aunt Marilyn's 70th birthday party and met the Zawacki cousins for the first time. Mom and Dad even got to go see a movie for the first time in a while.

Michigan Trip - August '08

Summer of Firsts

I know it's been a while since I added a new post and pics, sorry about that. Colin's first summer isn't over yet, but it's been a very adventurous one so far. This new web album documents a series of firsts for Colin, including crawling for the first time, his first H2L2 softball game, his first time at the beach, first time in a swimming pool, and of course his first Phillies game (marked by a 6-3 win over the D-Backs). It was also the first time mom and dad left town without him, leaving him with Nonie and Grandad for five whole days. He and the grandparents survived and so did we.

Colin's First Summer

New York Baby

Colin's second trip to New York started out with a lot of stress caused by a deadly combination of New Jersey drivers and liquid poo. He had his first non-family babysitter, who was very good and understanding considering the circumstances.

He met some new friends, including Marni, Doug, Shoshanna and Orly Sugerman and Cynthia Grilli. He had his first ride on a slide and a real swing and hung out all day in Central Park. We spent a very special first Mother's Day with just the three of us hanging out in the apartment and watching Indiana Jones movies.

Colin's travels continue with his first visit to the Virginia Gold Cup horse race in Warrenton, Virginia. He had a ball playing with Tucker the lab and his new buddy Thomas. It was a little sunny out for our pasty little boy, so we kept him in the shade with his Gilligan hat on. On the way home, he made a quick stop in Washington D.C. to visit the National Building Museum, the Washington Monument, the US Capitol and the Anacostia Waterfront.

Colin's New Tricks

Colin turned 7 months old a few days ago and is getting bigger and bigger - if that's possible. He's got a few more tricks up his sleeve, like rolling over and sitting up by himself. He has two front bottom teeth and the top ones are starting to peek through. He isn't quite crawling yet, but seems to be gearing into position. Babyproofing is becoming imminent.

Colin - 5 to 6 months old

Colin at 6 months old now weighs almost 20 pounds and is 28 - 1/4 inches long. He's about to grow out of his infant car seat and we need to go shop for a new one. He's getting much more active, loving his jumperoo, but still has yet to roll his fat little behind over completely.

Colin - 5 to 6 months old

Colin - 3 to 4 months old

Colin is growing like a weed. By 4 months old, Colin weighs almost 17 pounds and 25 -3/4 inches long. He's smiling a lot more and laughing and holding his head up. One thing that continues to flourish is the spit up issue. At his doctor's request, we tried to start him on solid foods to help curb the puking, but he was having none of it.

Colin started day care two days a week and is adjusting nicely.

Colin - 3 to 4 months old

Colin's next phase - 1 to 3 months old

Welcome to Colin's second month of life (November - December 2007). Colin now weighs about 14 pounds and is 24 inches long.

In this short period of time, Colin will have visited a total of six states (New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Ohio and Michigan) and will have his first Christmas and first New Years Eve party. He got to meet his brand new Cousin Thea as well as his cousins in Michigan.

The best thing that happened for mom and dad during this time period is that Colin started sleeping through the night!

Colin Robert Templeton arrives..........

.... on September 24, 2007

After 23 hours of labor and 2-1/2 hours of pushing, our beautiful baby boy - Colin Robert Templeton - arrived at 3:15 am on Monday, September 24, 2007 - about 6 days earlier than his due date. He weighed 8 pounds 14 oz. and was 21-1/2 inches long. He had a serious conehead and lots of splotches, but was gorgeous nonetheless. Gran and Slim made the 11 hour drive out from Michigan in plenty of time to sit with me in the labor room with James and Nonnie and Grandad Templeton.

After coming home to our "mostly" done house, we still had a lot of work to do. Mom fed the very hungry baby while Dad, Grandad and Uncle Zippy painted the house around us. Gran helped out too with the baby and cleaning the apartment.
